Feasibility studies (FS) are a vital part of the initial stages of a project, to confirm profitability of a client’s investment. JGC’s feasibility studies include conducting surveys, gathering data, and analyses of the whole environment surrounding a project, in accordance with the purpose of the client’s investment. Drawing on the experience and know-how we have gained through more than 20,000 projects in Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, Africa, South America, North America, Eastern Europe and Russia, we consider projects from many different angles, to provide our clients with optimized project plans that minimize investment costs while maximizing profit.
FEED (Front End Engineering and Design) involves conducting actual engineering work according to the specifications set out in the business plan outlined in the feasibility study (plant capacity, facilities configuration, etc.) The main purpose of FEED is to create a full set of technological specification documents, called a FEED package, in line with the wishes of the client and the idiosyncrasies of the particular project. FEED is a hugely important process during which 60-70% of project costs are decided. JGC draws on our wealth of experience and project execution know-how, using the latest engineering tools to maximal effect to determine optimal process flow, and deliver a FEED package that meets clients’ needs with regard to operations, safety, and the environment. By working closely with process licensers and using the knowledge we have gained from executing numerous EPC projects, JGC suggests potential improvements to our clients. By conducting both FEED and EPC work, we can reduce project risk and shorten the entire project schedule, adding another layer of efficiency to clients’ investments. JGC’s FEED packages put quality at the forefront, and serve as a “bible” to ensure that subsequent EPC work proceeds smoothly.

To maintain quality control on a highly complex, large-scale plant made up of countless components and piece of equipment while keeping the plant construction on schedule not only requires a deep level of specialized knowledge, but also the analytical ability to organically apply that knowledge to management—engineering management is of paramount importance.
At JGC, we start with front-end process engineering, followed by engineering of the various facilities that make up different kinds of plants (pressure vessels, rotating equipment, combustion chambers, electrical components, instrumentation and control systems, fire prevention facilities, etc.), following by engineering of the layout of the components (piping and civil work). Our engineers have a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for all aspects of plant engineering, and channel their expertise through cutting-edge engineering tools to provide an engineering service of the highest quality.
JGC possesses management expertise honed over many years of constructing plants as an independent contractor all over the globe. We organically integrate the specialized knowledge of each department through all stages of the process, proceeding to equipment procurement, component shipping, construction, start-up and maintenance. Our total engineering service upholds the most rigorous global standards, to realize safe, dependable plants of the highest quality.

Project Management

JGC carries out total project management in all project phases, including design, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance. The project team is led by a project manager, and consists of expert engineers and staff from each discipline, all of whom are fully devoted to the development of the basic plan including schedule, cost, quality and safety. A plant is a complicated integrated system consisting of different elements/components and functions. They shall possess economic efficiency, reliability, safety, higher operability/maintainability and consideration to the environment. In order to satisfy such requirements, the JGC project team having extensive experience and techniques procures equipment, materials, and multi-national manpower resources on a global scale to complete the construction work on schedule. With high-level engineering technologies and a unique project management system, JGC delivers a plant that fully meets the client's desire.
